IS JAVI JIMENEZ?

Javi Jimenez is an indie-pop singer-songwriter from Costa Rica, blending dreamy synths, emotional lyrics, and catchy melodies in the vein of artists like LANY, The 1975, and joan.

With a polished yet nostalgic sound, his music resonates with fans of alt-pop, bedroom pop, and soft synth-driven pop rock. Though he launched his solo project in 2020, Javi's musical journey began much earlier—playing drums, piano, guitar, and singing in choirs, orchestras, and garage bands since age 8. That lifelong obsession led him to step into the spotlight as a frontman and songwriter.

His debut singles earned him a nomination for Best New Artist at the Costa Rica Music Awards in 2021. Two years later, his first record, Lovely, The EP, was nominated for Best Pop Record, and in 2024, his track was again nominated for Best Pop Single.

Javi’s audience continues to grow internationally, with the U.S. now his top streaming country. He has supported acts like Carlos Sadness, Entrelíneas, and Magpie Jay, and is gaining recognition as one of Latin America’s rising voices in indie pop with his 2025 nomination at the Premios Estela, which honors excellence in Latin American music.
